Virtual Webmaster Services
Website: virtualwebmasterservices.com
Last updated: Aug 13, 2026
Our website, services, and member arrangements are based on the CARS Digital Privacy System: Compartmentalisation, Alternatives, Responsibility, and Security. Responsibility is one of the four foundational wheels of CARS. We guide and assist members to understand their choices, assess available services, and make practical arrangements suited to their needs.
We believe people gain control of their digital lives by being supported to make informed decisions about their information, communications, storage, security, backup, recovery, and the services they choose to use.
Our approach is to collect, use, and retain as little personal information as reasonably practicable.
It explains the privacy practices applying to this website. Separate terms, privacy notices, and member data-handling arrangements may apply to particular Virtual Webmaster Services member services, including Nextcloud, or to third-party services selected by a member.
The website does not provide:
Member accounts or member logins
Website contact forms
Membership application forms
Direct upload facilities for personal information or files
A requirement for visitors or members to create an account to access ordinary website or membership material
We do not intentionally collect personal information through normal use of this website.
We use selected infrastructure and security providers to deliver, protect, and maintain this website. This includes Bunny.net where configured to provide CDN, firewall, streaming, and related network services. These providers may process limited technical information needed to provide their services, maintain reliability, and protect the website against abuse or attack.
We do not use this website to build marketing profiles, sell personal information, or deliberately collect information beyond what is needed for secure website operation.
Virtual Webmaster Services may, however, provide or assist members to use services that necessarily store, process, synchronise, share, retain, or recover member data. These services are part of working with us and are provided or selected according to the member’s needs and agreed arrangements.
For example, Virtual Webmaster Services may provide a Nextcloud service hosted on infrastructure we operate. Members may choose to use this service for storage, collaboration, synchronisation, or applications such as Joplin. Use of such a service necessarily involves the storage and processing of the member data placed in it.
Members may also choose to use third-party services, including Matrix or other services they select or accept. Those services are governed by their own technical design, privacy practices, terms, and data-location arrangements.
We will guide members through available options and explain the practical implications of each option, including privacy, security, accessibility, sharing, backup, recovery, retention, and deletion.
Members remain the decision-makers regarding their own digital lives. Our role is to provide practical guidance, suitable alternatives, and agreed services that help members make and carry out informed choices.
Where needed to provide an agreed service or reduce unnecessary exposure of information, we may use an identifier, token, or another privacy-preserving method.
Members are encouraged to consider the information they choose to provide, where they choose to store or share it, the services they choose to trust, and their own requirements for access, backup, recovery, and security.
Members are also responsible for protecting passwords, credentials, devices, communications, and information under their own control.
A member’s choices do not remove any responsibility Virtual Webmaster Services has for its own actions, stated practices, security measures, or legal obligations.
A linked website or service may have its own privacy policy, terms, and data-handling arrangements. A link does not mean that another website or service has the same privacy practices as Virtual Webmaster Services.
A linked Digital Freedom Alliance website may provide a form or another means of communication. Any such form is governed by the privacy notice and handling arrangements published for that website or service.
Where member data is handled through an agreed service or arrangement, it may be disclosed only:
with the member’s approval or according to the agreed arrangement;
to providers necessary to deliver, secure, maintain, or recover an agreed service;
where required or authorised by law; or
where reasonably necessary to protect people, systems, rights, or security.
We do not sell personal information.
Where a member chooses, or an agreed service requires, the storage or processing of member data, we will apply safeguards appropriate to the nature of the service and the information involved.
Data will be retained only for the period specified in the applicable member arrangement, reasonably necessary to provide the agreed service, required for security or recovery, or required by law.
Members remain responsible for maintaining their own copies and backups unless an agreed service or member arrangement expressly includes backup, retention, or recovery.
No digital system, storage service, or communication method is entirely risk-free. We will assist members to understand material risks and available alternatives, but members should make informed choices appropriate to their circumstances.
